"I've always seen Blunt Logic as "the casual guild that could". We are an assortment of adults that like to unwind while playing MMO's, so most of our
members have a very casual attitude towards the game. As we all know, World of Warcraft demanded that players engage in countless hours of PvE content in order to gain the items that help in PvP. So Blunt Logic, being the PvP thirsty guild that we are, took 1-3 nights a week to raid the dungeons of WoW. We succeeded in progressing at a fair pace despite our lack of hours to commit. However, we realized we were doing very little of what we enjoy most, PvP. So here we stand at the beginning of a new digital world to conquer. This time doing what we do best, slaughtering and pillaging the enemy. Blunt Logic houses many technically minded people; we know how to contribute well to the WAR testing phase." -- Ozack
"I was a true FPSer at heart - playing Unreal Tourny, Counter Strike, and America's Army (where I was Co-Leader and Founder of one of the top and most respected squads). I found a new love. MMO's. Planetside was the first MMO I played. It was nothing but a zerg fest, though the quick action and destruction was all it took for me to get hooked. After some thought, I moved on to a whole different galaxy. One that was far, far away. I found myself intrigued with the community based aspect of Star Wars Galaxies. The ability to go out and do things on my own. I would have been content to stay that way but I was asked to join a group of others.
Echo Squad was the true start of Blunt Logic. It was the Beta stage to what we are now. While in Echo I met someone who I would call a friend for a lifetime and more. Back then he was not known as Gpunk, but we will leave it as that to make things easier. With Gpunk and me, Echo would take on anything in our way - securing our guild the top PvP spot on our server. We held that for quite some time. An opposing guild on the other side of the spectrum emerged and we spent a lifetime fighting this group.
Leaving Star Wars Galaxies for a few months, we took the best from Echo and the best from our rivals and played Dark Age of Camelot. We destroyed the battlegrounds and we think we made a small impact (I still miss my necromancer). We then came back to SWG and joined forces with this guild and wreaked more havoc. By this time another monster was emerging.
Blizzard put out World of Warcraft. As Echo, we started to make our mark. Soon after, the guild leader was no where to be found. Blunt Logic was born
at the helm of Gpunk. The instances never kept us sedated. The community, well that was not really there. The PvP was great, until the implementation of battlegrounds. So we had to do something. Being Horde, we were supposed to kill Alliance and kill their leaders, right?
NOPE
We found a way and were the first guild to kill our own warchief. It is still talked about. Today, there isn't much that can keep us gaming together, but there isn't much that can tear us apart. We are here to stay and it will take an army to take us down." -- Sanictavia
So you have it. The background of BL. I am proud of what we have built here and value my team's vision. This extends outside of any and all games we have played. I asked for their input in this history and boy did they deliver. My friends here have inspired me. As you look around the site, you will notice I carry the BL name beyond gaming. Without this team behind me, I would never have had the courage. I will close with a letter from my wife to Mark Jacobs. When I asked her to add something, she wanted to know who was in charge. I still can't tell if she is excited about WAR.
Dear Mr. Jacobs,
I might be the only person that is apprehensively waiting for WAR. Currently my evenings are spent with my husband, guild leader, eating a nice dinner, watching a movie, etc. I know that time is almost over, with the coming of your game I will be a WAR widow. Oh, how I look forward to watching strange little characters run and jump up and down in one place while waiting for raids. Or do funny dances and run back and forth. Listening to cries of AOE!, AOE!, DPS!, DPS! Watching clouds of brightly colored spells consume injured characters, dangerous looking swords and arrows battle frightening animals. Hearing screams of "We're at 21%...10%"...then multiple screams of joy when some large mythical creature flops to his death.
I imagine that I might be in store for more of this with the onslaught of WAR. But wait! My husband assures me it will be different! It's a PVP based game. Now does that mean there will be even more battles, cursing, and scheming to witness?!? Oh my. Why not? Count me in too! -- WAR Widow
