I want to bring attention to a friend doing the music thing from a different angle.  You can find Poe and his page here.  Touchy subject, i kno rite?  What with me attempting to build a record label and distro.  Why would I pimp free music?

Well, in short - the industry is changing.  Free music is the catalyst for a fair and affordable business model in the land of record sales.  Check that link out for what I consider one of the brightest ways to do things.  If you are skurred, it is a link to the Nine Inch Nails cd "Ghosts I-IV".  9 tracks for free download.  $5 for all 36 tracks in multiple formats.  $10 for a CD w/ double disc digipak.  Theres also a limited edition and deluxe edition package with features worthy of their steep pricetags.  Choices, for both collectors and the economically challenged (i.e 99% of the world).  This is the type of plan I can get behind.  $18 for a single cd is sooooo 1996.

In comes Poe.  He finds the music and links to it.  He does not host the files.  Poe does mostly metal and hip hop but you can find all sorts of stuff through his page.  If he doesn't have it, he looks for it.  More importantly, if you don't want your music up - just tell him.  In a nutshell, Poe respects artists but also understands what the real ones want - to be heard.  In an effort to thank Poe for exposing me to new music and for his hard work, he gets the first affiliate banner in the footer of www.bluntlogic.com.

Take it back from the Nazis.  This is a repost of a bulletin sent to me.  Everyone should take note and get active.  I'ld argue that Nazis should be stopped by boot but politics work too.

------

Subject: Stop these NAZI'S!

www.keinbockaufnazis.de doesn't put up with the latest shocking news and neither should you! The german Neonazi Timo Schubert trademarked the term "Hardcore". If he gets the ratification, it would be a disaster for the whole scene! We got to know of this just by fluke and now try to mobilize as much people as we can to prevent a legal validity. The opposition period expires END OF MARCH. First of all our Lawyer applied for cancelation of the entry. Quite possible that they dismiss our petition. If so, we will file an objection together with some Fanzines, Mailorders and Recordlabels.

This would become very expensive because of the lawyer's fee.

Now here's what you can do:

1.Make it public! Inform all of your friends, bands, clubs and labels. Repost this bulletin. Link our website so that everyone keeps up to date.

2. Write a nice but certain mail to the "German Patent and Trade Mark Office" (info@dpma.de) and tell them what you are thinking about this action.

3. We are selling a "Hardcore"-Shirt in our onlineshop - now more than ever! We will pay the Lawyer’s fee with the profit of this "Hardcore-Savior-Shirt". (**I will post a link to the shirt and remove this blurb once I can find it - Gpunk)

So get one in our shop! And if the Neonazi want’s to sue us for the shirt – the heck with it! They won’t get us down!

Hardcore will always be against Nazis! Send your protest-mails to the "German Patent and Trademark Office": info@dpma.de

Is good people!  You don't need to just take my word for it (who would right?) - check out the myspace here.  Sure I know the guy that runs it.  Normally thats enough to be worthy but oh no.  Aunt Mary Records has done a benefit CD for Ring Dog Rescue.  Hit off the AMR myspace to buy a copy - it helps the dogs!  Ring Dog Rescue is non-profit rescue operation for bully breeds.  If you know me, you know my dogs.  Ring Dog Rescue is a Life saver and so is AMR for helping them in their cause.  Socrates and Durban give 8 paws up!
